Behind the Scenes: Creating Content for the LA Auto Show

I always get excited when companies reach out for projects like this. A few weeks ago, I was hired to create content for the LA Auto Show (November 21–30 at the LA Convention Center) one of the biggest automotive events in the country. They wanted a high-energy Reel to showcase the test drives, wild custom builds, and all the excitement on the floor. Here’s the video I put together:

These paid opportunities are a highlight for me. With my Instagram following at around 19K, I’m solidly a micro-influencer (typically 10K–100K followers). I love that brands are increasingly choosing creators like me for authentic, targeted reach, especially in a market like LA where lifestyle and entertainment content resonates so well. These gigs are also very lucrative when they fit my schedule. I only take on projects when I have genuine availability, which keeps everything fun, flexible, and sustainable.

Working with events like the LA Auto Show is especially rewarding because it aligns perfectly with the LA energy I love to capture, whether it’s nightlife, real estate, or automotive culture. It’s another reminder that you don’t need millions of followers to land great brand deals.

Three Things I’ve Learned That Have Helped Me Grow as an Influencer

Niche beats size every time

Brands care far more about who your audience is than how many followers you have. My 19K followers are hyper-local to LA, which makes me a perfect fit for events and businesses targeting the city.

Consistency builds trust with both followers and brands

Posting regularly, even if it’s not every single day, keeps my audience engaged and shows brands I’m reliable. That reliability is what turns one-off collaborations into repeat clients.

Saying yes only to the right opportunities pays off

I only accept projects that feel authentic to me. When the fit is right, the content performs better, the brand is happier, and I actually enjoy the process, which keeps me motivated for the long haul.
